UTICA GREENS
cultivating community and local food through urban agriculture
UTICA GREENS
We dream of a world where all people have access to affordable, local foods. We envision a world where everyone can take part in the food system and have a hand in growing his or her own food. Utica Greens is one small step towards this vision. And with your help, our dream can become a reality for our community.
ABOUT US
Established in 2016, Utica Greens is a nonprofit organization that aims to foster community through local gardens. We work to connect community gardens to form a cohesive network. Through this cooperative structure, Utica Greens hopes to make each garden stronger, enabling them to feed and educate more people while creating a safe environment for the community to come together to share in the excitement of growing, cooking, and eating your own food. Our ultimate goal is to ensure economic and environmental sustainability for local urban gardens and to be a resource for healthy eating and living in Utica.
OUR MISSION
Cultivating community and local food through urban agriculture
We wish to bring people together through food. Activities such as gardening and educational programming will strengthen the community enabling us to come together over the shared bonds of a nutritious and delicious meal.

Urban Gardens
Cultivating Community
At Utica Greens, we are dedicated to supporting community members through our various initiatives. Our main foci are community gardens in Utica. We aim to create a unified network of gardens throughout the area, coordinating volunteers and supplies.
Education
From nutrition to yoga- how to lead a healthy life
We connect the community with local educators in topics ranging from the science of growing plants to the art of tai chi. We work with all ages, from local school children to the elderly. Our philosophy is that food is an ideal medium to learn about almost anything. It is a delicious and universal language, which makes learning fun! Check our events page for more information about upcoming classes in your area.
Food Justice
Local Food and Information Access
We strive to increase the community's access to fresh, local food. Making sure everyone has equal access to a nutritious meal, is one of our priorities. We work to accomplish this in a variety of ways from growing and distributing local produce to providing another source of local produce to purchase at fair prices to helping people find other resources available to them in the community.
